Let's start analysing the first race of the season, the 2026 Australian Grand Prix at Melbourne.

🏆 Mercedes-AMG Formula One Team Dominates the 2026 Season Opener

Mercedes-AMG Formula One Team pulled off a stunning 1-2 finish at the Australian GP, George Russell taking the win, with Kimi Antonelli right behind him in P2.
The Silver Arrows already lead the Constructors' Championship with 43 points, with a 16-point gap over Scuderia Ferrari.

The good performers

Leclerc (P4 → P3) — Ferrari's best performer, gained a spot on race day.

Hamilton (P7 → P4) — Lewis quietly moved up three places. Solid performance by a much more confident Lewis.

Verstappen (P20 -> P6) - Great recovery by Max as usual.

Bearman (P12 → P7) — The standout mover of the race, jumping 5 places for Haas. A real statement drive.

Gasly (P14 → P10) — Gained 4 spots for Alpine to sneak into the points.

The disappointments

Hadjar (P3 → DNF) — Started from the second row and retired. A brutal blow for Red Bull, who also lost points from Verstappen starting further back.

Piastri (P5 → DNF) — McLaren's Australian hometown hero retired on home soil. Ouch.

Hulkenberg (P11 → DNF) — Audi's race ended early, leaving only Bortoleto to salvage 2 points.

Lawson (P8 → P13) — Lost 5 positions from qualifying to finish. A race to forget for the Racing Bulls driver.
